Our Tablecloth Project

Thank you to everyone who organised this and also who came along to submit their drawing.  We got around 70 images of all different themes and from all different ages.

These will now be used to form our WI tablecloth (a WI “must-have”).  When designs are complete our members can vote and then every single one of us shall put in at least 1 stitch!

We will be contributing to the Didsbury Arts Festival (“DAF”) this year by Sue and Wena running a workshop in Didsbury Library on Saturday October 2nd 12pm – 3.30pm. It’s to help us provide gather peoples images and perceptions of Didsbury for our WI tablecloth which will then go to make up our tablecloth in a clever montage.  However we will need cake bakers and tea/coffee servers as we said we’d offer cakes and drinks for a donation to our charity.

DAF 2010 takes place Saturday 25 September to Saturday 2 October.  More than 50 venues will host over 100 events and exhibitions. The volunteer form is available on the website, or you can pick one up at Didsbury Library. Details are in the DAF brochure if people want a look.  We are based at Didsbury Library.

The DAF 2010 PROGRAMME IS NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE ! Take a look at the DAF 2010 programme of events at www.didsburyartsfestival.org … and please let everyone know about it!
