Membership
Didsbury Village WI is currently about 60 strong and growing. We’re quite a young WI with lots of spirited ladies in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. New members are always welcome, so please do pop along and if nothing else, you should get tea and cake! We have lots of extra curriculum activity groups – dining clubs, books clubs, Cake decorating, walking.
Please do pop and say hello - see what we’re like and then after a couple of meetings you may join the WI (yearly subscription of £30, payable every January – which joins you to the National WI with all their benefits)
After that it’s just £2 a month which covers your tea/coffee and cake money and then pay-as-you-go for any extra outings or activities you wish to get involved in
Membership of the WI offers a whole range of benefits including:
Membership of your local WI and access to county and national federation activities
- eight issues a year of the WI membership magazine WI Life
- the chance to attend a wide range of courses at Denman College, the WI residential college near Oxford
- having your voice heard: making a real impact on local, national and international issues
- the opportunity to learn, develop and pass on new skills
- belonging to something special: making friends, working as a team, having fun.

Hi, I saw your article in the South Manchester Reporter last week and wondered if I would be eligible to join if I wanted to. I live in M23 post code.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards
Jo

Hi Jo,
Thanks for your interest. Everyone’s very welcome to join however you may find that the activities are more locally focussed. Tuesday 1st September is our next meeting.
The other option is to do as we did and start your own WI, as we did last December! It’s very simple and the National WI (NFWI) are great at starting you up. You only need a handful of ladies to officially start. Although we’re Lancashire, the Cheshire Federation are looking after us as we’re closer to them.
I’ll pass on details if you’re interested in that route.
Regards
Sally
